ABOUT ME
I am a costume designer, maker and standby based in London. I graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in Costume Design and Textiles, specialising in embroidery, from the University of Huddersfield in 2014. I love travelling the world and because of this I am very much inspired by different cultures and enjoy discovering ethnic textiles and traditional dress wherever possible. Like many costume folk I also very much enjoy attending fashion exhibitions and vintage fairs; the 1960's being my favourite era for both design and culture. And when I have time I love nothing more then creating a little 60's garment for myself.
Since graduating I have explored a range of roles in TV, Film, Theatre and Opera. Most recently I have been working as a costume standby in TV, from high end drama to fast-paced comedy. I have also been involved in designing a number of short films, which I enjoy doing as they often bring interesting concepts to experiment with. I love transforming a design into a finished garment. Which is why making costumes and clothes is another passion of mine, whether this is for myself or a freelance making job. I very much enjoy the diverse nature of my work, and feel confident in taking on a spectrum of roles.
WHAT I'VE DONE

My design of the cast line up in two of the locations featured in the film adaption of The Boy With The Cuckoo Clock Heart. Designed for my final degree project (2014).

I constructed this costume for the film adaptation of The Boy With The Cuckoo Clock Heart by Mathias Malzieu. The character is Miss Acacia and she is the star of the show, I used many embroidery techniques in her costume including laser cutting and beading.

The board includes fabric samples, costume changes and technical drawings of the costume as well as the final costume design.

I chose these as the final techniques to use to create Miss Acacia's costume following experiments with many forms of embroidery.

I constructed this costume for the film adaptation of The Boy With The Cuckoo Clock Heart by Mathias Malzieu. The character is Anna, a fun loving prostitute. Her corset was inspired by a Victorian maternity corset.

I decided to design these two characters as a pair following the descriptions given of them in the book. The board includes fabric samples and technical drawings of the costume as well as the final costume design.

I constructed this costume for the film adaptation of The Boy With The Cuckoo Clock Heart by Mathias Malzieu. The character Jack is a love struck misfit. His costume was inspired by the punk movement after finding parallels between his personality and isolated anti establishment characters of the punk era.
